Notice is hereby given to the voting members of the Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) that a by-election will be held in Pond Inlet and Sanikiluaq on January 20, 2020. This by-election was delayed by one week to allow all Inuit to fully participate, after the holiday season.

Positions contested are:

Community Director                                     Pond Inlet (1 Term – 3 years)

Community Director                                     Sanikiluaq (1 Term – 3 years)

To be eligible to vote you must be a Canadian citizen, at least 16 years old on Election Day, an Inuk registered with Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. and permanently reside in Pond Inlet or Sanikiluaq.nad

Advance Polls: January 13, 2020

Election Day: January 20, 2020

Polling stations will be open from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. local time.

Nomination forms will be available December 2, 2019 from your local QIA Community Liaison Officer, at www.qia.ca or from the Chief Returning Officer.

Proxy voting is also available.
